Notice of Information Practices and Privacy Statement
Your information is yours, and we regard it as such. To that end, MD Billing Solutions strictly adheres to all HIPAA mandates concerning the privacy of your personal and medical information. This notice describes how health information about you may be collected, used and disclosed, and how you can get access to this information.

How We Collect Information About You
By nature of our business with the medical world, we may collect data through a variety of means including but not necessarily limited to letters, phone calls, emails, voicemails, and from the submission of applications that is either required by law, or necessary to process applications or other requests for assistance through our organization.

What We Do NOT Do With Your Information
Information about your medical conditions and/or care that you provide to us in writing, via email, on the phone (including information left on voicemails), contained in or attached to applications, or directly or indirectly given to us, is held in strictest confidence. We do NOT give out, exchange, barter, rent, sell, lend, or disseminate any information about applicants or clients who apply for or actually receive our services that is considered patient confidential, is restricted by law, or has been specifically restricted by a patient/client in a signed HIPAA consent form.

How We Use or Disclose Your Information
We must use and disclose your health information as is reasonably necessary to process your application or to provide you with health or counseling services which may require communication between MD Billing Solutions and healthcare providers, medical product or service providers, pharmacies, insurance companies, and other providers necessary to:

Verify that your medical information is accurate.

Determine the type of medical supplies or any health care services you need including, but not limited to, obtaining or purchasing any type of medical supplies, devices, medications or insurance.

You or someone who has the legal right to act for you (your personal representative).

The Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, if necessary, to make sure your privacy is protected.

Where required by law.

We have the right to use and disclose health information to pay for your health care and operate our business, and for your treatment by your health care providers.

Regarding Highly Confidential Information
Federal and applicable state laws may require special privacy protections for highly confidential information about you. "Highly confidential information" may include confidential information under Federal and State law governing alcohol and drug abuse information as well as state laws that often protect information such as that dealing with HIV/AIDS.
